If you have an urgent problem during surgery hours that cannot wait for a routine appointment, our preferred method of contact is by telephone. Please telephone at 8.00am or as soon as possible thereafter on 01394 670 107. If you “walk in” to the surgery without having telephoned first, you may face a wait, as GPs may be in surgery or dealing with patient problems on a priority / need basis.

The receptionist may ask you for some indication as to the nature of the problem to make sure that your case is dealt with appropriately. You will either be offered an appointment or a telephone call from the Duty Doctor.

Alternatively, NHS 111 may be of asistance for advice & signposting of services.

Urgent Problems: Outside Surgery Hours

All non emergency calls should be directed to NHS 111. Please note that routine prescription requests cannot be dealt with by this service.

Your call will be answered by a trained operator who will arrange the most appropriate action for you. This may be a phone call from the duty doctor, a trip to the primary care centre or a visit from one of the mobile doctors if necessary. Calls to 111 may be recorded.

At weekends you may be expected to attend an Emergency Centre at various locations.
