Ante Natal Care, Post Natal Care and Health Visiting
Important: it is recommended by the Department of Health that pregnant women undergo immunization against the ‘Flu virus this winter. Please click here to go to our ‘Flu Information Page. Please see the bottom of the page for information about our Health Visiting Service.
If you are pregnant, you can choose to receive your ante-natal care here at the surgery. Our surgery Midwife Caroline holds a clinic here at the surgery every Thursday. Your care will be based around the milestones set out in the table below.
If you need to contact a Midwife during the week, please call 01473 702666 between 8am - 6pm.
We don’t do pregnancy tests here at the surgery, please confirm that you are pregnant with a home test. When you realise that you are pregnant, contact the surgery so we can put your name down in the Midwife's book. She will then contact you to make an appointment to see you when you are 8 weeks, this appointment will take approx one hour. If you are otherwise fit and healthy you don’t need to see a GP.

Health Visitors are an integral part of the NHS Community Health Services. All Health Visitors are qualified Nurses and/or Midwives, with additional specialist training and experience in Child Health, Health promotion and Education. They offer practical support and advice in diverse situations. Health Visitors, as nurses, are subject to a professional code of conduct which requires them to act in the best interests of the client.
All families with a child under 5 have a named Health Visitor or Health Visiting Team who can advise on all aspects of care.
